Modern slavery statement
Our statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, describing our supply chain as it actually is: one director, no employees, and self-employed linguists engaged directly.
Our commitment
OndLingua Ltd. is committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain, in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We treat dignity, fair pay, and lawful working conditions as non-negotiable.
Risk areas
Our supply chain is short: cloud infrastructure and the self-employed linguists who carry out assignments. We consider the risk of modern slavery in that chain low. The linguist relationship is the part we look at most closely, because it is the one where people are engaged directly.
Due diligence
Suppliers and interpreters complete a screening questionnaire on onboarding and recommit annually. Interpreters are engaged directly with no agency middleman, at rates agreed with the linguist. Where a balance reaches £500 it is paid out the following Monday; otherwise it is settled at month end and reaches the interpreter's account by the 7th.
Who applies this policy
OndLingua is a single-director company. We have no employees, and no procurement or people teams. The director applies this policy directly — reviewing supplier and interpreter screening, and deciding what happens when a concern is raised. We will publish a staff training commitment when there are staff to train.
Reporting
Concerns can be raised confidentially at [email protected] and go directly to the director. We aim to respond within five working days. Anyone who raises a concern in good faith — interpreter, supplier or client — will not have their working relationship with us affected as a result.
