Four ways to interpret.

Four ways to reach a qualified interpreter — by telephone, by video, booked ahead, or in the room. Instant telephone and video run on our own platform today; mobile apps and automatic assignment are in development.

  • Mode 01

    Telephone (OPI)

    Rapid three-way calls on any line — ideal for reception desks, triage and short appointments. The platform takes requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and offers each one to every interpreter online for that language at that moment. Which languages have someone online out of hours varies, so we confirm it with you before you rely on it.

  • Mode 02

    Video (VRI)

    Visual context where it matters: clinical consultations, safeguarding conversations and BSL. Browser-based joining — nothing for service users to install.

  • Mode 03

    Scheduled

    Pre-booked interpreters for consultations, hearings and meetings. You are told who is coming, by name, before the session.

  • Mode 04

    On-site

    Face-to-face interpreters for complex, sensitive or extended appointments, matched to specialism and, where requested, gender.

We're a new company, so we won't show you invented statistics. What we will show you is the bar every linguist on our roster has to clear:

  • Recognised qualification — DPSI, DPI, ITI, CIOL or equivalent
  • Professional registration — NRPSI (spoken) / NRCPD (BSL) where applicable
  • The highest DBS level the role is eligible for — Enhanced with barred list checks for regulated activity.
  • Two verified professional references
  • No interpreter can be cleared for work until they have signed our code of conduct, confidentiality and data-protection terms.

Incomplete files don't take assignments. No exceptions.

How we use what you send. ONDLINGUA LTD (company no. 17283866, 167–169 Great Portland Street, London) is the controller for this enquiry. We collect your name, work email, organisation and sector, your phone number if you give one, and anything you add about languages, timing and the service you need, so that we can answer you; our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries made to us. Your enquiry is stored as a record, goes by email to our enquiries mailbox, and is acknowledged to you by email. The copy in our server log is deleted within a month, and an enquiry that does not lead to a contract is kept for no longer than 24 months. You can ask for a copy of what we hold, or for it to be corrected or deleted, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact [email protected].
